Dates and Details:
The DHE audition process consists of three parts, as follows:
1. Tuesday evening, September 8, 2009 (informal ring)
You will not be judged during this evening of ringing. This is purely a time to break the ice, meet each other, have some fun ringing and for those who perhaps have not been ringing over the summer, an opportunity to get back into the swing (ring?) of things!
2. Saturday, September 12, 2009 (individual auditions)
The individual audition will last approximately 15 to 20 minutes and will consist of the following:
Short written test to measure recognition and knowledge of handbell terminology and notation Brief interview Sight "ringing" Skills demonstration, including clapping different rhythms and meters; weaving; multiple treble bells techniques (if applicable); and bass bell ringing (if applicable)
3. Tuesday evening, September 15, 2009 (follow-up group ringing)
All auditionees will ring as a group, sight reading a variety of repertoire at several different ringing positions.
